Early Spring

February 23, 2009

dscn4129I debated whether or not those of you still in the icy throes of winter would appreciate this, or whether it would upset you too much. This is our first nasturtium of the season–a volunteer growth left over from last year’s(?) crop, which suddenly started taking over our planter (and our plant trash bin) a few weeks ago. I also tried to snap a photo of the leaf buds opening on our little fig tree, but they didn’t turn out. I’ll try again another time. Take heart, those of you still in winter, spring is coming to you, too (just in another month or so).

I think I might have to wait until May. Alas. I have a full-blown case of spring fever. I am planning my garden and I just got a bunch of vegetable seeds in the mail today. Can’t wait!

I know I’ve been scratching at the back door like a poodle in heat, but there’s still plenty of snow on the ground here.
I’m happy for y’all who actually get to enjoy some beautiful buds. Thanks for sharing. I’ll crack a Bud in the meantime while staring at my empty pots. Cheers.

Ooh, a nasturtium!!! They took over our back porch last summer, hanging from our third-floor porch to brighten up the building. And that jade plant sprout is so lovely!! We’re still seeing snow in the air (though what was on the ground has again melted). Thanks for the sign of hope — I needed it.
